Charlotte Arnold Fine Art

Artist Statement
Charlotte ArnoldI have loved drawing since childhood. Drawing from life has always been a passion of mine. Although I paint from photographs when necessary, I believe all the years I have spent in front of the model have made my drawings more believable. When working from life there is a spiritual connection between the artist and the sitter. If it is not possible to work from life, I like to spend time with the subject in order to get a feeling of their personality. The same can be said about painting in Plein Air. There is nothing as gratifying as creating a painting outdoors. The colors, smells, and sounds of Mother Nature cannot help but lend magic to the painting. This can breathe life and freshness into a painting.
